For the past several years, Jennifer Leads has been working in the motocross industry and has spent countless hours around dirt bikes in her career. “After my internship with TransWorld, I got accepted to Arizona State and went over there. I finished my Bachelors in Communications and then got a job at KTM as an event coordinator,” said Leads. However, it had been a long, long time since she had actually suited up and swung a leg over bike. That all changed when she got the opportunity to hit the track, thanks to the Babes Ride Out track day at Fox Raceway.

“It’s really cool to be able to feel comfortable here and to be able to go out on the track and not feel super intimidated by pros or fast guys,” said Leads. “I think that’s really awesome!”

With a fresh set of Fox gear, Leads hit the track on one of Husqvarna’s demo bikes that they had brought out for the girls to test. After a few laps, she started to gain confidence and get comfortable on the bike. Best of all was the satisfaction she felt from finally getting back in the saddle and trying it out again.

Despite growing up around motorcycles and having a position at KTM North America, Leads hadn’t been in the saddle of a dirt bike for a few years. Her motos at the Babes Ride Out track day has her eager to ride more in the coming months.

“My recommendation would be to just get a bike and do it. I was really scared for awhile,” Leads said when asked what advice she would give to girls who want to get into riding. “I rode when I was young, but then I stopped for whatever reason. Recently, working for KTM and Husqvarna, it is all around me and I had an urge to do it. Thankfully, there were a lot of supportive people around to help me and push me. I would say just do it, get a bike and don’t be scared.”

Luckily for girls in a position similar to leads, the Babes Ride Out crew has plenty more events coming up in the near future, with Babes in the Dirt 5 coming April 26th in California, and Babes in the Dirt East later on September 20th in Tennessee.
